About Wendy Figures
I started winter swimming following a lovely summer season in 2014. My friends and I just wanted to see how long we could keep swimming in the lake for before returning to the pool. However, as we all know, it\'s a bit addictive! My 1st ice k was in January 2015 and the ice mile followed in Feb 2015. I then had a very successful summer season before focusing on more ice mile for 2016. The Irish Championships were fantastic and I loved the recovery experience there. I have been fortunate to do a few more ice miles. It might be me there in the water but it is definitely a team effort - the whole setup at our club is second to none and all of my ice miles are credited to the boat support crew, the shore team, the safety team and the recovery team.
