About Matthew Johnston
Deaf since birth and swam with sound for the first time in 2014 when I had a cochlear implant and could put the processor in a waterproof box.
I swim in open waters regularly especially in the Serpentine, Hyde Park Lake Andark, Hamble and RIver Itchen, Winchester.
I have swam a few memorable swims:
1. Across the English Channel in a 3 man relay in 2012
2. Swam across the Solent from Gosport to Ryde in 2014
3. Completed my first 1km ice swim in Andark, England in 2016
