About Reino von Wielligh
I am an avid open water swimmer, specializing in Marathon swimming 10km and 5km. In 2022 I swam my first cold water swim in Cape Town, the Robben Island Crossing, it was here where I found the love for ICE swimming. I have since swam the South African National ICE Swimming Champs and the 5th IISA Championships in Samoens France 2023. If I am not at work (SAP BASIS Engineer) you will find me training or swimming in the open water. Besides swimming I love to restore vintage cars with my dad, and take my dog, Xara (German Shorthaired Pointer) for a walk.
I look forward to many more ICE swims, including ice miles. I share the vision with the founder of ICE Swimming Ram Barkai, that one day in the near future we will have the inclusion into the Winter Olympics, and I am looking forward to making a difference in growing ICE Swimming as part of the Athletes Committee.
