Africa 1st Ice Championship this August

- The swim will be a 1km race event with 4 to 6 swimmers in a heat.
- The course is a loop of 200m in the small Dam.
- Current water tempo is 7C, we will have to have the water temp below 5C for the competition.

Qualifying and Fun swim
- Each participant in the 1km race will have to have swum at least 500m under IISA rules in the past 3 years. We highly recommend to the ones that swam in Fraserburg 3y ago – to participate in the qualifying swim so your body remembers the ICE!
- We will hold 500m qualifying swims on Sunday 26th July 2015 in Hertzelia School Constantia Pool. We have arranged for 6 tons o ICE to cool the pool down to sub 5C.
- Qualifying + Fun Program
- In order to qualify for the IISA SA 1km Champ, one has to swim a distance of 500m under IISA Rules.
- We will have a doctor, hot showers and plenty of warm hugs and chocolate
- Qualifying 500m swim 10:00 – 12:00
- Qualifying swim fee R350
- Fun swims 12:00 – 14:00
- Fun Swims 25m free, 50 free, 4 x 50m relay
- Each fun swim R50 per person
