About Brian Dillon
Brian Dillon Winter swimming on a more consitsant basis 2015 to date . Trained for my first Ice Mie in 2018 and have achieved an Ice mile in each year since . Proud to be a cofounder of the Limerick Narwhals , a like minded bunch of winter swimmers which promotes and supports winter and ice swimming in our neck of the woods and where ever we go.
We train regularly in the winter ,swimming 2 to 3 times every week in open water and 2 more times at least in the pool for some speed work ( ha ha )
In December 2018 I went to the Parliament Hill Lido in London , I was very lucky as the temperature of the water on the day was 4.9 C. I swam 1800 Meters ( the pool is quite long and swam 2 more lenghts to be sure of my count ) and was delighted , the following year on my return visit I was made an honorary PHIS ( Parliament Hill Ice Swimmer ) .... and that is the kind of thing I love most about the winter swimming , itis the community of like minded people that we meet and get along so well together .
In Ireland we have a great community building and over the years I have swam Ice Miles and Nice Miles and Ice Ks with Wild Water Armagh , Eastern Bay , The 40 Ft Walrus\\\'s , Infinity , Sandycove pirates , Fennit , Kilkee and Galway bay winter swimmers and I do love my weekend swims with my winter buddies The Limerick Narwhals in O Briens Bridge , Castleconnell, Killaloe , Mill Road Corbally to name a few .... aren\\\'t we lucky .
