About Gary Knox
I have been swimming open water since 2008, but never considered ice swimming until a chance meeting with Ian Conroy. I took it up towards the end of 2017 & completed 500m and 1000m in Wild Water Swimming Armagh in 2.9 & 1.9 degrees respectively before going on to finish my first international ice mile at the Eastern Bay Invitational event in Lough Dan in Feb 2018 in 4.4 degrees. Many thanks to Ian Conroy & Fergal Somerville for mentoring me from zero to ice miler in four months.
