In 2020 when the Pandemic hit I found myself searching for a place to swim. Thankfully I met many marathon and ice swimmers who introduced me to this incredible new icy world and inspired me to expand my experiences. Due to a neck injury I had trouble sighting in open water doing freestyle so one day I turned over and started backstroke. It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s been an amazing adventure ever since.
Who knew I was a backstroker? But, it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s brought me a new sense of serenity and confidence. Watching the sky, clouds, trees, boats, and wildlife calms my soul. Adding the ice swimming has become my version of meditation. I love how my head is able to focus on the moment in the water and flush out all the noise of everyday life. I am beyond fortunate to have my swim community surrounding and challenging me daily.
