About Erik Lambooy
I rediscovered the fun of swimming at a later age, at first only breaststroke, but then I also learnt Front Crawl for Boomers on the basis of YouTube videos by Terry Laughlin.
Outdoor swimming in and around Amsterdam with my Whatsapp swimming group helped me through the boring lockdown winters. And of course also the cheerful shivering with chocolate milk and pink cakes after the Sunday training sessions of Amsterdam Ice Swim in the Nieuwe Diep in Amsterdam.
The happy faces of the participants in the Ice Swimming World Championships in Poland made me want to participate in Samoëns in 2023. Just the short distances. And mainly for the fun of it.
